The Slough Town Junior Cup Final between Maidenhead Town and Windsor
Great Park was played at Burnham's Ground on 1st May in front of
approximately 150 people.
The game was extremely tight with very few clear cut chances. The
first half passed with a number of half chances going to each side but
it was the second half that sprung to life with a chance for
Maidenhead. Maidenhead has the ball in the net but was judged
offside. Leslie Sykes and central midfielder, Omar Maqsood, began
to pull the strings for Windsor Great Park and it was the latter who
hit a rasping shot low down to the keeper's right. The Maidenhead
Town keeper saved brilliantly, but could only push the ball onto the
post. WGP Captain, Rossario Giacobbe, was on hand to smash the
rebound in from five yards to give Windsor Great Park what turned out
to be the only goal of the game.
